Dear Partner in Literacy
Continuing our work on the Literacy Framework we would like to invite you to attend the: Australian Learning Lecture: Joy and Data with Sir Michael Barber (streamed live from Victoria)
Do you have a passion for the value of learning?
The State Library of WA is hosting a live video stream of the inaugural Australian Learning Lecture<http://www.all-learning.org.au> being delivered by renowned British educationalist, Sir Michael Barber<http://www.all-learning.org.au/lectures/speakers/sir-michael-barber> direct from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. With the theme of 'Joy & Data'<http://www.all-learning.org.au/joy-and-data> the lecture will highlight the rarely explored intersection between the joy of learning and the way in which we use data to measure, value and enable success. Dame Quentin Bryce will introduce the lecture.
State Library is organising a panel session to follow the lecture broadcast and you're invited to stay for the online Q&A, networking, wine and cheese.
When: Thursday 21 May 2015, 3.45pm - 6.30pm
Where: State Library of WA, Great Southern Room
This is a FREE event but places are limited so bookings are essential www.slwa.eventbrite.com.au<http://www.slwa.eventbrite.com.au>
Changing the way we think about learning
The Australian Learning Lecture<http://www.all-learning.org.au/> (ALL) is a biennial lecture series that will ignite interest in learning and education, bringing big ideas and issues to a public forum for discussion and debate. ALL aims to change the way Australians think about learning, to encourage people to value education - not just in formal institutions, but as an everyday pursuit to improve quality of life.
Why should I attend<http://www.all-learning.org.au/lecture/who-should-attend>? By participating in this event you have the opportunity to join a community of thinkers and doers and take part in elevating the value of learning on a national level.
