Parliamentary Library Internship
Due to the success of the first Parliamentary Library internship in 2014, the Library is repeating the program in 2015 as part of our initiative to engage with future library professionals and foster relationships between the Parliamentary Library and Australian tertiary institutions. The program will provide interns with an opportunity to develop their library skills in a well-regarded library with highly professional and experienced staff.
The internship is open to students who have commenced studying for their library qualification at an Australian institution. It is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
If interns are seeking course credit for the internship, the Parliamentary Library will liaise with the relevant university to ensure that the intern's tasks or project meet the requirements of their course.
The successful applicants will be based in the Parliamentary Library and have the opportunity to interact with expert librarians and researchers, including a mentor who will provide advice and guidance throughout the internship.
I attach a promotional flyer which I hope you will circulate to your students. Applications open on the 16th March and close on the 29th of March 2015. An online application form is available on the Department of Parliamentary Services website: http://www.aph.gov.au/Library/Internship
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions about the internship.
Yours sincerely
Liz
