The Ruth Faulkner Public Library is currently seeking an entry level casual Library & Heritage Assistant to assist with front counter duties.  This position is ideal for a student wishing to receive on the job mentoring in the Library and Information profession.

Working within a close knit team, the successful candidate requires good interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups, to ensure a high level of customer service is provided.

Hours of work will be negotiated between 8:00am and 8:30pm, Monday to Thursday, 8:00am and 5:00pm on Friday's and 8:30am and 12:30pm on Saturday's, as required to provide coverage during periods of staff leave and absences.  The rate of pay incorporates the appropriate casual loading and as such, leave provisions under the Award do not apply.
