Dear DIS students,
In 2013 the 79th annual conference of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) will be held in Singapore from August 17th-23rd. It is only rarely that the IFLA conference is held in a location so accessible to Australia.
A number of staff from the Department will be attending, and we are also encouraging students to consider attending the conference. It is an excellent opportunity to mix some professional learning and networking with an attractive holiday destination! We are not organising an 'official' student trip, but would certainly looking forward to seeing you there and helping you find your way around this very large conference. The IFLA Conference always offers numerous satellite meetings of special interest groups, library visits, trade exhibition, many social functions etc.
The conference website is only just being developed but can be found at: http://conference.ifla.org/ifla79
We will send you plenty of reminders between now and then, but we encourage you to link up with other students and start planning your travel of IFLA in Singapore!
Regards
Paul
