Hello fellow WAINERS

There are still a few places for the morning seminars at the Shake Your Family Tree Open Day this Saturday.

If you're interested in finding out more about your family background and antecedents, come along and chat to representatives from National Archives of Australia, State Records Office of WA, Family History Unit of the State Library of WA, WA Genealogical Society (WAGS) and the Royal Western Australian Historical Society (RWAHS). No matter whether you've yet to begin the family history or are advanced in your research, there will be useful information to explore.

Or, you may wish to attend a free seminar - currently there are still some seats available for the following sessions only:

9.00:      Accessing your family records online (National Archives of Australia) - find out how to access the incredible range of Immigration and Defence records in the collection.
10.00:    Basic Preservation techniques for preserving home archives (Paul Malone from Preservation Services) - this is the one to attend to find out what to do with those old family documents in the suitcase under the bed and all those digital records stashed on your hard drive.
11.00:    Basic Preservation techniques for preserving home archives (Paul Malone from Preservation Services)
