Hi Kerry, Barbara and Vanessa, 

 

Apologies for the late notice but would it be possible to circulate the
following information to your students: 

 

 

ALIA New Graduates Group, in conjunction with ALIAwest, is organizing
this year's library booth at the Careers, Education and Employment Expo.

This year's Expo will take place next week from Thursday 12th to Sunday
the 15th of May at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. 

 

We are looking for students who would be interested in coming along to
help us get the expo visitors excited about working in libraries. 

 

Each shift is two hours: 

 

Thursday and Friday 

9- 11     11- 1     1 -3

 

Saturday and Sunday 

10- 12   12 -2     2 -4  

 

It will be a great chance to meet established librarians including
members of the New Graduate Committee in W.A. and staff from the State
Library, Public and Academic Libraries. 

It will also be an opportunity to develop confidence engaging with the
public and letting them know that librarianship is about more than
shelving books.
