Have you almost finished your Library and Information studies? Have you
wanted to break into special libraries or federal government libraries
but do not know how? Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Library in
Canberra has a vacancy for an APS5 Librarian position. This will be an
ongoing and full-time position. 

Although, the position is gazetted with mandatory qualifications
applications are encouraged from anyone who is close to completion of
their degree or post graduate diploma. Permanent appointment would be
contingent upon successful completion of the qualification within the

TGA Library is a specialist biomedical library which supports the work
of TGA in its regulatory decision making and other business activities.
Information resources focus on pharmacology, toxicology, biochemistry,
medicines (including complementary medicines), medical devices and blood
and tissue products.  It is staffed by a team of professional librarians
who offer highly valued services to their organisation.  If you would
like to work in a small, supportive and friendly team, then please

Key job responsibilities include: 

- Purchasing of information resources in accordance with procurement,
financial and library procedures. 

- Cataloguing of information resources using the library management
system FIRST. 

- Answering reference queries and maintaining the library intranet
pages.    

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Experience in a scientific or health library is desirable but not
essential.
