POLICY & RESEARCH OFFICER

STATE LIBRARY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA

AUGUST 2011 - JANUARY 2012

 

 

The State Library has a temporary vacancy for the position of Policy &
Research Officer, and we are seeking Expressions of Interest for this
position from August 2011 to January 2012.

 

The position offers a great opportunity to work across the State Library
and with government on a wide range of issues and projects.   A key
responsibility for this position is the administration of high level
statistical processes and using spreadsheets.  This position also has
responsibility for reporting to the Library Board on Key Performance
Indicators.  Other recent projects and activities include Ministerials,
speeches, research papers, letters, coordinating briefings for National
and State Libraries Australasia (NSLA) meetings, NSLA's Copyright
Working Group, and support for the Library Board and other committees.

 

The attached JDF provides a summary of the duties.   This position is
classified in the public sector as Specified Calling Level 1 ($55,677 -
$76,337), with an essential criteria "Eligibility for Associate
membership of the Australian Library and Information Association."

following selection criteria:

 

1.	  Demonstrated ability in writing reports, briefing papers and
other documents for committees. 

      2.     Demonstrated knowledge of the internet and computer
applications, e.g. word processing and spreadsheets.

3.     Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels,
both verbally and in writing, including the presentation of training
programs.
