The following exciting employment opportunity is on offer at the City of
Armadale. 

 

If local history is your interest, and you are seeking a position in a
local studies library in a district that is rich in history and values
the importance of its historical collections, then we are interested in
you.

 

The City of Armadale's Birtwistle Local Studies Library is situated in
the recently relocated Armadale Library in the Armadale Central Shopping
Centre. The Local Studies Librarian works autonomously, but in the
supportive environment of the public library. The Library is well
established and has a sound base of written and cartographic
collections, an oral history recording program, an ongoing program of
digitizing of its photographic collection and an extremely active Family
History Centre that is an integral part of its service.
