VACANCY - Information Management Analysts - Statistics New Zealand,
Wellington
Are you looking for a fun and supportive team, with professional and
personal development opportunities and a competitive
salary? If the answer is yes then we have the job for you.
We are seeking applications for positive, enthusiastic people to join
our
Information Management unit as Information
Management Analysts.
Our unit is striving to promote a culture of good information
management
practice, process and systems in our organisation
and we are therefore looking for innovative team players who enjoy
engaging with a variety of people to promote positive
change. This is also a great opportunity to dip into some technical
areas,
as much of our work requires a basic
understanding of our organisation's IT environment.
Your role will be to actively promote, develop and support one or more
of
the following:
document management system
digital preservation processes
recordkeeping advice and assistance
information management training
library services.
We encourage you to apply for this vacancy if you are a good
communicator
and have experience in any of the following areas:
working in a Lotus Notes environment
working in a special library or with corporate records, or with
document management systems
managing paper records or archives
digital preservation
developing and delivering training in processes and systems
communications or engagement with users/customers.
An understanding of information management practices and processes in
the
public sector is useful but not essential.
The Information Management unit supports staff at Statistics NZ to
create,
organise, access, and use information assets.
This includes management of statistical data, along with its supporting
documentation and Metadata, as well as all other
types of business records. The unit's responsibilities include
management
of the Statistics NZ library collection, the
Statistics NZ data archive, oversight of intranet content and
structure,
offsite document storage and deployment of
corporate information management tools.
Statistics New Zealand is the first source of independent factual
information for anyone making decisions in business,
government and the community. Our statistics feature every day in
newspapers and on the radio, Internet and television,
providing real statistics about real situations.
