As you may be aware, the 5th ALIA New Librarian's Symposium is to be
held in Perth from 16th - 18th September 2011.

The NLS5 committee is currently calling for abstracts for papers.

The two themes for the Symposium are:

*	"Me, me, me!" (Professional metamorphosis) 
*	"Ask not what your library can do for you..." (Industry
metamorphosis)

  Symposium Launched!

We are delighted to announce preliminary details for the ALIA 5th New
Librarians Symposium (NLS5). 

Perth, Western Australia will host the 2011 Symposium on Friday 16 -
Sunday 18 September at the Sheraton Perth Hotel. 

The Symposium will continue to provide the opportunity for emerging
professionals to develop and present a first time paper for an audience
of their peers. The Symposium will be held back to back with the ALIA
National Library & Information Technicians Conference (Back to Basics).

The Committee are developing an exciting program 

that will include: 

*         Library Tours

*         Satellite Workshops

*	Conference Dinner    

Call for Abstracts

We are delighted to advise Abstract Submissions are now open. 

The Committee invites you to submit a current and unpublished abstract
of no more than 300 words using one of the themes below which relate to
the Symposium theme of Metamorphosis: What will you become today?" 

*	"Me, me, me!" (Professional metamorphosis) 
*	"Ask not what your library can do for you..." (Industry
metamorphosis) 

The deadline for abstract submissions is Wednesday 15 December 2010.
