Litigation is a commercial reality for many organisations. Giving
discovery of relevant documents is typically the most time and cost

recent Australian developments in relation to e-discovery.

Topic: Formulating a Strategy for E-Discovery and Parallels to FOI

This session will provide the opportunity for information and legal
professionals to interactively formulate a strategy for two hypothetical
organisations - a government department and a resources company - to
efficiently comply with their discovery obligations.

Participants will be encouraged to consider the parallels between
responses to FOI requests and discovery orders, and how the hypothetical
organisations can better manage their information governance obligations
in the future.

To ensure success of the session, all registered attendees will receive
the hypothetical scenario three days prior to the session so long as the
registration is made by 2 August 2010.
