Central TAFE is looking to appoint Academic Librarians as relief for up to 6 months either as full-time or part-time staff. 

The role assists lecturers and students in various academic portfolios to identify and use  learning resources and ensures that appropriate services and support is delivered in an effective and efficient manner.

 

A successful candidate will be one who can demonstrate awareness and application of new technology as it applies to teaching and learning.

 

Responsibility Statement:
• Consult with and assist lecturers and students identify and use information resources relevant to their teaching, learning and research needs.
• Assist portfolio areas identify and organise learning content in consultation with academic staff.
• Create online and print-based instructional materials for information literacy and deliver information skills instruction.
• Promote information resources and reference services to meet the needs of staff and students.
• Identify, evaluate and select electronic resources and make these resources available via the Library’s website.
• Maintain relevant content and identify, evaluate and select resources to meet teaching and learning needs.
• Undertake research to support lecturers and enhance the curriculum.
• Supervision of staff may be required.
• Other duties as required.

The incumbent of this position may be required to commute between campuses (all within the metropolitan area) and is likely to be required to work flexible hours to cater for extended opening hours of the Library, with some evening work.

 

A salary range of $51,601 - $70,748 is offered in accordance with the GOSAC Award.
