Good afternoon,

 

You are invited to the Local Government Librarians’ Association of WA (LocLib) pre-conference tour of The Place.

 

Come along for a sneak preview of The Place, a new space for children and families at the State Library.  “It’s your chance to see the place to read, the place to discover stories and the place to be at the Library.”   

 

Joanna Andrew, State Library specialist librarian for Children’s Literature, will reveal all about this new exhibition and activity area, showcasing Western Australian children’s literature and incorporating a Better Beginnings Family Reading Centre.

 

When:             Thursday, 5 March 2009

Time:              5.30pm-6.30pm

Where:            Mezzanine Floor, State Library of Western Australia

Light refreshments kindly sponsored by Child Education Services Bookshop

 

For people attending the CBC(WA) Night of Stars, you are very welcome to first stop in at The Place.  Joanna will speak at 5.45pm.  Be inspired by the The Place with its link to the vast cultural heritage of WA Children’s literature, before heading off to meet the literary stars of today and beyond.
