Some information about our speakers:

Valma Datson has been working in libraries for about 30 years and most
of those years have been in TAFE and university libraries in Victoria.
For at least 20 of those years, Valma has been supervising staff and so
has been involved in selection and interviewing processes. Her current
role is Manager of the RMIT Bundoora Library where she manages about 25
staff. One of her passions is fair, open and transparent recruitment
processes.

After completing his postgraduate qualifications in Human Resource
Management, Brad King moved into the Recruitment industry in 1999. He
joined The One Umbrella as a Consultant in 2003, working with clients
and candidates in the Library, Records and Knowledge Management sectors.
Brad has also been the State Manager of the Victorian branch of The One
Umbrella since 2006.

Andrea Webster completed RMIT’s Graduate Diploma of Information
Services as a part-time student while working at the Mordialloc-Chelsea
Regional Library. After graduation, she worked as a Children’s
Librarian and Deputy Branch Manager/Internet Trainer. Andrea is
currently employed as the Branch Manager at Rosanna Library, which is
part of the Yarra Plenty Regional Library Service. Last year she
completed RMIT’s Master of Business (Information Technology). Andrea
has had over ten years experience interviewing applicants for branch
library positions. Training sessions have also taught her a lot about
interviewing skills as both an interviewee and interviewer. However, she
has found that no matter how many interviews she has participated in,
every interview is still a challenge and there is always something new
to learn about interview skills.

You will have an opportunity to ask questions, and you may have to
answer some too! There will also be time for some light refreshments at
the end, kindly provided by RMIT University Library.

Hope to see you there.
