Hi

ACMA has just issued the official media release - New information pack
promotes safe internet use for children in public libraries - announcing
the launch of the resource materials for public library staff across
Australia. We have linked to the media release from our Library and
Information Week media page:
http://www.alia.org.au/advocacy/liw/media.html
<http://www.alia.org.au/advocacy/liw/media.html>

The ACMA website www.acma.gov.au/libraries now has the following
resources:

*	The Cybersmart Guide for Library Staff
<http://www.acma.gov.au/webwr/_assets/main/lib310668/cybersmart_guide-li
brarians.pdf>  (2.83 mb)
*	The Cybersmart Guide for Families
<http://www.acma.gov.au/webwr/_assets/main/lib310668/cybersmart_guide-fa
milies.pdf>  (4.63 mb)
*	A Cyber rules poster
<http://www.acma.gov.au/webwr/_assets/main/lib310668/cybersmart_poster.p
df>  (1.74 mb)

A series of four internet safety information videos will be available to
download in early June 2008. In June, all Australian public libraries
will receive an information pack of these materials.

Please circulate this information. And thank you to members of the
Online Content and Regulation Advisory Committee and the Public
Libraries Advisory Committee for their feedback and assistance in
reviewing the two guides.

Regards

Jane
