Morning Folks

On Friday September 5, the New Norcia Library Lecture for 2008
celebrates the glamorous side of librarianship.

Giles Mandelbrote from the British Library will tell you about attending
book fairs and auctions throughout Europe. You can marvel at the medical
curiosities in London's Wellcome Library with Julianne Simpson, then
listen to Anne Brody describe Kerry Stokes' private art and book
collection. Finally, Barbara Patison, the Collections Manager from the
State Library of WA will portray for you the excitement of bidding at
auction for WA's rare heritage materials.

All this for only $77, which includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea
and entry to the New Norcia Museum and Art Gallery. Students get a
very special rate of $30!!!!! We cancel lectures on the day of the NN
Lecture as we support it very strongly and encourage you to go if at all
possible. It is a fantastic way to network with the Perth information
community.

Book the day through
Sue Johnson
New Norcia Library
library at newnorcia.wa.edu.au

I am trying to organise a combined bus with the State Library. The bus
would leave from the State Library (details will follow in due course).
I need to know who would be interested in travelling up to New Norcia on
the bus. The cost will be about $10 per head on top of the $30 for the
lecture.

If you are interested please let me know ASAP as we have to book the bus
in the very near future.

Don't miss this great opportunity!!!

Marg
