Subject: [rmaa_list] Vacancy Canberra - Thesaurus Manager ACT Territory
Records Office $K78-$K84

The ACT Territory Records Office is keen to engage a qualified
archivist, information or records manager who can develop a knowledge of
ACT administrative practices to assist in the development, maintenance
and management of the whole of government (WHoG) thesaurus using the
a.k.a. tool. The ACT Government records management regime utilises the
Keyword AAA thesaurus of general terms that has been modified to create
the Territory Version of Keyword AAA or TVKAAA.

The WHoG thesaurus consists of the Territory Administrative Records
Disposal Schedule, TARDiS and multiple specific Records Disposal
Schedules. The WHoG thesaurus supports the automated file request form
system. The Records Thesaurus Manager will be required to assist in
the development and maintenance emerging records disposal schedules in
consultation with agencies of the ACT Government.

As the webmaster of the Territory Records Website
www.territoryrecords.act.gov.au
<http://www.territoryrecords.act.gov.au/> , training in MySource matrix
will be provided.

The position is also responsible for the whole of government records
contractors and consultants panel contract, and for providing
secretariat support to the Territory Records Advisory Council (TRAC).
TRAC is a Council that is appointed to represent the ACT community and
consider the Records Disposal Schedules with a view to representing
interests for longer retention periods.

The ACT Territory Records Office is a small multi-disciplinary team
comprising an Archivist managing the Access to Territory Archives from
July 2008, Copyright for the administration of copyright in the ACT, and
records management regulatory functions to support the Director of
Territory Records.

This position was advertised in the ACT Public Service Gazette of 17
January 2008, but it was felt that readvertising on the listservs may
provide applicants with specific skills an opportunity to consider
submitting an application.

If you require any further information about the position please contact
Rosetta Romano on (02)62079369.
