Archival Basics Workshop - Thursday 6 March 2008

The ASA have agreed to run an Archival Basics Workshop in Perth on
Thursday 6 March 2008. Please put it in your diaries and make every
effort to make it along as this is something our SIG has been working
towards for some time and it will be tailored it towards our needs.
There will something in it for all school and small archivists, novice
and experienced alike.

Program

We are still drawing the program together and would be happy for your
suggestions. It will be based on the introductory workshops that the
ASA ran in Sydney and for PABRICA last year with some of it drawn from
draft content from Keeping Archives III. I understand that Kim Eberhard
(ASA President and School Archivist extraordinaire) will be one of the
presenters. ASA Education Officer Sigrid McCausland is planning to make
it locally relevant and to use original records for the practical
session. Numbers will be limited to 25.

Venue

We urgently need a venue, so if you would like to host this workshop and
think you could cope with 25 of us plus a presenter or two, please let
me know asap.

Further Details

I will send further details as they come to hand but in the meanwhile it
would be great if you could take the necessary steps to facilitate your
attendance. This will be a great workshop and I hope that you can make
it. Please contact me if you have any queries.
