Invitation to members of ASA and RMAA
The following Education Special Interest Group meeting is open to
members of ASA and RMAA. There is no charge to attend this meeting and
no requirement to register for the RMAA Convention.
Education Special Interest Group meeting Sunday 7 September 2008: 1.30 -
2.30PM
Location: Bayside 104, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre (where the
2008 RMAA Convention is being held)
Purpose: Commence review of Statement of Knowledge for Recordkeeping
Professionals Agenda for discussion Overview of history of Statement of
Knowledge 1. How it has been used course recognition by RMAA and ASA 2.
Intentions not yet realised for promotional purposes:
a. Inside the profession
b. Outside the profession
3. Issues arisen during first 2 years
a. Duplication and editing
b. Expression of awareness of cultural diversity Possible topics
for terms of reference for the review 1. Assess if Statement is still
valid 2. Assess areas of content most needing review 3. Establish and
seek input from stakeholders 4. Consider if current presentation still
meets ASA/ RMAA and stakeholder needs 5. Consider mechanisms to more
widely promote statement and how it supports the profession 6. Consider
validation, approval and review protocols for next version of Statement
of knowledge Possible plan for undertaking the review 1. Record
discussions from 9 August meeting at ASA Conference 2. Record
discussions from 7 September meeting at RMAA Convention 3. Draft terms
of reference 4. Circulate and agree on terms of reference 5. Seek
approval from ASA Council and RMAA Board for Terms of Reference 6. Seek
input from stakeholders to oversee the review 7. Prepare and circulate
issues paper 8. Prepare and circulate revised Statement 9. Finalise by
ASA and RMAA respective 2009 annual conference and convention.
The meeting hopes to encourage members to participate.
