The library at Francis Burt Chambers is seeking a casual library
assistant/library technician (approximately 15 hours per week).  This
ongoing position would suit either a law or library student, or a recent
library graduate looking to further their library experience.

 

Francis Burt Chambers was the first set of barristers' chambers
established in Perth, and has operated within and served the legal
profession in Western Australia for over 40 years.  There are currently
over 90 barristers residing at Francis Burt Chambers.

 

This position is predominately responsible for assisting with routine
clerical tasks in the Francis Burt Chambers Library. It performs
paraprofessional and other support duties under the supervision of the
Librarian to ensure the Chambers information requirements are met.

 

Duties include: accessioning, shelving, loose-leaf filing, loans,
processing of acquisitions, interlibrary loans, maintaining legislation
collection, outside collections, basic reference assistance and other
projects as directed.

 

Knowledge of legal resources would be an advantage, but is not
essential.
