Please find below information regarding a job opportunity at Activ
Library.

 

Librarian

*         34 hours p/f - 3 days per week (Wed, Thu, Fri)

*         Recent Graduates are encouraged to apply

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Librarian to join
our Library team based in Jolimont. Activ Library provides services to
families and carers of people with disability, teachers and staff of
disability organisations.

 

This is a job-share position with a Senior Librarian in which your
duties will include cataloguing, customer service, reference enquiries,
acquisition, collection maintenance and current awareness services.
Initial availability (first fortnight) will include Monday and Tuesday. 

 

The successful candidate will possess:

*         A Bachelor of Applied Science in Library and Information
Studies or equivalent

*         Experience in supervising staff / or the ability to develop
supervision skills, and effective communication and interpersonal skills

*         Eligibility for professional membership of the Australian
Library and Information Association (ALIA).  

*         Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer
service

*         Proven ability to utilise the Internet for retrieval of
information, and cataloguing skills

*         Experience in website management, and use of DB/TextWorks
software is desirable

 

A base salary of $36,892. pro rata (plus superannuation) is offered with
an option to take up excellent salary packaging benefits to reflect a
commercial value up to $41,860 p.a. pro rata (plus superannuation).
Appointments will be subject to Activ's criminal record screening
process.
