[Hum-DIS] Reminder: ALIAWest Sharr Medal presentation 29 August 2007

Students are definitely invited to this function but I haven't seen any student numbers in the rsvps yet. This only costs $8, is in a central location (Alexander Library building which is very close to Perth train station), is in the early evening (5:30 to about 7pm), and it's a good networking opportunity with senior members of the profession who might need to employ students or recent graduates in the foreseeable future. Not to mention the fact that the Sharr Medal is a prestigious award and there will be cake to celebrate ALIA's birthday. 
 
ALIAWest invites you to celebrate ALIA's 70th Birthday and the presentation of the Sharr Medal 

Wednesday 29 August 2007 5.30 for 6pm 
State Library of Western Australia (Great Southern Room) 

Sue Hutley, Executive Director of ALIA will discuss the past, present and future for ALIA 
Margaret Allen, State Librarian will present the FA Sharr Medal 

Tickets $10 ALIA members $15 non-members $8 students 
(Drinks and Nibbles will be served) 

RSVP to Camille Peters (ctpetersaalia at gmail.com) by 6pm on 27 August 
(with ALIA membership number or student number if claiming discount) 
Payment is by cash or cheque on the night.
