You are warmly invited to a Reception at the Western Australian Parliament House to honour the life and career of the late Dr Anne Sibbel with an Award of Distinction to be presented to her family by the Australian Psychological Society College of Community
Psychologists. Many of you will be familiar with Anne's amazing work, but here is an excerpt from her Award nomination:</div>

<i>Anne’s contribution to community psychology practice was unique and outstanding. She was the Founder and Principal of Reflective Practice, a community and social research company that specialised in working with FIFO employers, employees, and their families.
She successfully completed multiple applied research projects for major resource companies, focusing on the impact of mining employment of the wellbeing of workers and families, and developed resources to help them manage these effects. As Production Editor
of the College's flagship journal, the Australian Community Psychologist, Anne was a driving force behind its publication, and was recognised internally as having ‘carried the journal on her back’ for more than a decade.</i></div>

<i>Following her untimely death in 2022. Anne's community advocacy across multiple issues was recognised in a moving speech by Hon. Jessica Shaw, Member for Swan Hills (see video

). In her 11-minute tribute the Honourable Member makes specific reference to the impacts of Anne’s PhD research and ensuing involvements with mining communities. It is rare for a community psychologist to be mentioned in Parliament! </i></div>

<i>Anne Sibbel was a very unassuming and yet quietly authoritative researcher and practitioner, and a fierce community advocate - the sort of psychologist about whom we should make much more noise. In sum, Anne's deep commitment to community psychology, as
a teaching domain, as a discipline, and as a profession, together with her commitment to the principles of community empowerment and professional integrity, make her an excellent role model to all psychologists. She made a truly substantial contribution to
Community Psychology, as well as to the Australian community in general. </i></div>
