My name is Desiree, and I've never written an email like this before. <b>Writing to a million GetUp members for the first time is scary. But I'm writing to you for the same reason I joined GetUp: this climate crisis is scarier.</b>

<br>

<br>

I've never seen our sun this colour, or our sky turn to smoke and ash like this. I've never seen bushfires devastate our wildlife and communities on a scale like this.

<br>

<br>

And never in my lifetime, have I seen a Prime Minister bury his head in the sand in the face of a national crisis like this.

<br>

<b>But I've also never felt so hopeful.</b> Because while Scott Morrison is missing in action, hundreds of thousands of people in our communities are looking for a solution we can fight for together. And

<b>for the first time many of them are asking: 'What can I do to fix this?'</b> <br>

<li>And we'll let you know about upcoming trainings and events you can join to make even more impact in the future.
