<p>A couple of local people have asked me if APS members can attend the AGM tomorrow in Brisbane, even if they didn't rsvp. The answer is yes - that was apparently just for catering purposes. If you get there a bit before 1pm you can be marked as present and
given a voting ticket for any motions at the meeting that might require a division. Community College Chair Jenny Sharples and Counselling College Chair Melissa Harte are attending the meeting, so say hello to them if you get a chance.</p>

some ways possibly simpler) due to the new governance model that was voted in in June this year. All voting is optional preferential, which means it's wise to only number people you could actually live with being elected.</span></font><span style="font-family:Calibri; font-size:medium; background-color:rgb(234,234,234)"> <font color="#414141" style="font-family:Calibri; background-color:rgb(234,234,234)">You

<div style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px"><span style="font-family:Calibri; font-size:medium"><b>Academics get to vote
</b>for one (or more) of 3 candidates under DPRET (Division of Psychological Research, Education and Training) -
<b>ALL psychology academics who are APS members should pay attention to this one </b>
- DPRET only gets one rep while the Divisions of Colleges and General Practice will elect a second rep next year - and a quirk in the DPRET membership parameters means that not all candidates actually come from the University/post-secondary sector.</span></div>
<div style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px"><span style="font-family:Calibri; font-size:medium"><b>Clinical College members
</b>get to choose from 5 nominees, 2 of whom are also standing for president-elect (The other 8 Colleges will get to choose one director between them next year - not as unfair as it sounds because the Clinical College is SO large, and because this means there
will always be a non-clinical college director elected within the Division of Colleges, from next year at least).</span></div>
<div style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px"><span style="font-family:Calibri; font-size:medium"><b>Registered psychologist APS members who do
<i>not </i>belong to a College</b> can elect one director this year and one next year from the Division of General Practice - there are 3 candidates here.</span></div>
<div style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px"><span style="font-family:Calibri; font-size:medium">If you fit more than one of the above categories (ie DPRET
<b>plus</b> <b>either</b> the Division of Colleges (Clinical this year) <b>or</b> General Practice, which are mutually exclusive, you get to vote twice - lucky you! When you log in your eligible categories will automatically come up - I only got to vote for
president-elect this time around <span>😞 Your vote needs to be in by<b> Friday 6 October</b> to count.</span></span></div>

<b>and perhaps most importantly,</b> if you can't get to the actual AGM on Saturday 7 October in Brisbane,
<b>you need to appoint a proxy if you would like to vote on any motions</b> to be decided at the meeting. This includes the crucial 'Spill the Board' motions group which will see all 11 current directors (including those due to step down anyway) voted on individually.
I can say here that I don't support these motions, even for the people I might not like, but for more details of the pros and cons you'll need to look elsewhere or ask me privately. I understand that Jenny Sharples (Community College Chair) and Melissa Harte
(Counselling College Chair) will be attending the meeting and can take proxies. (You don't need to ask their permission, or anyone else's you might like to nominate -
