Hi everyone
<div><br>
<div>Just reading today's newsfeeds and came across this reference (from 2007?) to an ex-priest who in his own terms became a community psychologist:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>O<font color="#0000ff">n graduation he worked as a research officer for the NSW Premier’s Department, specialising in the emerging issues surrounding ageing and disability. His worldview expanded as he was exposed to government policy development and the
machinations of government, private and voluntary sectors in community health. “My area of interest became community psychology – the relationships that underpin our lives and allow us to function as healthy loving human beings. I could see the value of the
insights of urban anthropology, sociology and psychology for pastors working to serve local parish communities”</font> <a href="http://www.dbb.org.au/news/fx-articles.cfm?loadref=12&id=134" target="_blank">http://www.dbb.org.au/news/fx-articles.cfm?loadref=12&id=134</a> </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>It made me think about a number of psychologists who would like to claim this tag (including Ali Baker, who is presenting a seminar at Footscray on Wednesday week) but can't under current legislation - and I wondered whether it's time to open up some discussion
about the future of the field and the title in Australia - at the risk of participating in our own demise...</div>
