</div><div><p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span> </span></p></div><div><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"" lang="EN-US">Prof Jenkis' lecture will draw on ethnographic materials from a study of ninety persons taking antipsychotic medications to explore the experience and meaning of taking these medications. In so doing, she will argue that the overwhelming emphasis on biologically-based neuroscience in US research on mental health and illness is misplaced, and that researching culture and mental health is as crucial as it is complex for nearly every aspect of mental illness from etiology to outcome.<br>
