international expert on the social causes of mental illness, suicide and the development of effective, equitable health systems. He is an Advisor to the Mental Health Commission of Canada and sat on its Service Systems Advisory Committee. He is credited with
being pivotal to the prominence of health equity in Canada’s first National Mental Health Strategy – aimed at improving services for immigrant, refugee, ethno-cultural and racialized groups.
