<p><font face="Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><span style="font-size:11pt">The VWL Justice Committee is hosting a film screening of the documentary “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” at Russell Kennedy on 6 March. This documentary touches on many
of the issues that we have discussed at various UHM consortium meetings and I invite you all to attend.

The documentary was<i> </i>co-written and produced by young Melbourne barrister and human rights advocate, Jessie Taylor. It considers the question of what makes someone become a 'boat person'. Jessie Taylor and Ali Reza Sadiqi met with over 200 asylum seekers
in Indonesian jails, detention centres and hostels capturing their stories in an effort to explain why so many would risk their lives to make the dangerous journey to Australia.

The Deep Blue Sea Team is currently conducting a national tour, travelling to 30 cities around the country before a Federal parliamentary screening which is scheduled for 18 March 2013.<br>
We are selling tickets for $15 (VWL members) and $20 (non-members) to raise money for the Deep Blue Sea National Tour and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. </p>
<p><br>
The screening will be followed by short a Q & A session where you will have the opportunity to ask questions of Jessie and other panel members. Copies of the
<i>Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea </i>will also be available for purchase on the night.
