<DIV dir=ltr><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Just alerting anyone who might have been thinking of joining the APS College of Community Psychologists but just hadn't got around to it, that if we are successful in our campaign to have Community and Health Psychology endorsed as specialist areas of practice alongside the other 7 areas denoted by APS specialist Colleges, only current members of the college will automatically receive endorsement to use the title 'community psychologist' under National Registration. Anyone else will have to apply under the new standards that will require two years of supervised practice post-Masters (or one year post D Psych); the current requirements for College membership require just one year post-Masters, including 80 hours of 'approved college activities' (eg supervision or PD). <DIV dir=ltr><FONT size=2 face=Arial>If you are already an APS member you can apply for College membership NOW <FONT color=#ff0000><STRONG>but it will</STRONG></FONT> <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>need to have been processed</FONT><FONT color=#ff0000> and approved</FONT></STRONG> before June 25th for automatic transition to apply (no guarantees). After that the new rules will apply to endorsement, and after Jan 1 2011 the APS college rules will likely be brought into line with the PBA's rules. So get your skates on.
