The next few weeks will see a flurry of springtime CPD activity from the College of Community Psychologists and the Women and Psychology Interest Group - my two favorite homeplaces within APS 🙂
Rising Tide: The psychology of Advocacy

The Psychology of Advocacy Movements is a special event being hosted jointly by Psychologists for Peace and the College of Community Psychologists that will explore the psychological mechanisms underpinning effective grassroots advocacy. Compassion-Focused Therapy in the treatment of complex trauma
Wednesday 10 September, 6.30-8pm AEST
The APS Women and Psychology Interest Group is hosting this webinar, which will be delivered by Dr Lisa McLean, Executive Director of Laurel Place, the largest sexual violence service in Qld. Lisa has developed and trialled a compassion-focused group intervention for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, for which she received the 2024 APS Women and Psychology Elaine Dignan Award.
