Hello everyone (if you're Melbourne based or in range)

You're warmly invited an informal dinner at 6pm this Friday 11 April at Naughton's Hotel<https://naughtonshotel.com.au/>, 43 Royal Pde Parkville with special guest Dr Meg Bond, a visiting community & feminist psychology colleague from the US. A former President of the Society for Community Research and Action<https://scra27.org/>(SCRA - APA Division 27), Meg is featured in Psychology's Feminist Voices<https://feministvoices.com/profiles/meg-bond>, an amazing digital archive of 'the past and presence of women and feminism in psychology'. (Although the profiles are mostly from the northern hemisphere, I dare anyone to start browsing the many inspiring profiles there and not get lost for hours 🙂)

Meg has recently retired so doesn't want to give a formal talk, but says 'Do you think folks would be up for an informal conversation over lunch or dinner ? One topic I am particularly interested in these days is efforts to sustain feminist organizations over time. You might recall that I founded a research center on women and work... Reflecting upon our 25-year stint as a very successful organization has me pondering the challenges of sustaining social justice organizations over time. But rather than presenting anything, I would welcome a conversation with anybody who is thinking about similar issues, sharing ideas and experiences' .

Here's a short excerpt from an interview she did about 14 years ago for Psychology's Feminist Voices: PFV Interview with Meg Bond: Feminism in Community Organizations<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTgXzpI24Mg>.

RSVP ASAP if you'd like to join us - if enough people (15-20+) are interested, we might be able to reserve the private dining room if it's available. So feel free to invite others who might be interested.

The hotel is directly opposite Melbourne Uni and easily accessible via #19 tram. Parking not too difficult.

Best regards

Heather
