This looks like an interesting request for placement opportunities for prospective Indigenous Allied Health trainees in the ACT.

Dear Heather,

Please see the email copied below from Maria Manton, Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer.

Good afternoon,

I am reaching out to share with your ACT association that Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) will be implementing the Indigenous Allied Health Academy in the ACT in the second half of 2021. The IAHA National Academy model is a transferrable and sustainable education and training program aimed at creating opportunities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander school students to consider a career in health and wellbeing, whilst creating a genuine pathway that enables students to gain relevant industry qualifications through a preferred school based traineeship model. The Academy also aims to encourage more diversity in the health and community sector workforce, and pathways may lead to multiple health qualifications and professions. Further information on the program is available at: https://iaha.com.au/careers-and-pathways/aboriginal-and-torres-strait-islander-health-academy/<http://be.psychology.org.au/ls/click?upn=xftCvoRZRbcW1HUP8zfNNLBnrPCx-2BNrNXA3BNkt8ekinspIkqYYs69feY0Ll67HAvySGfbktWP0kShy99jFgGX9-2By37P78EHilZE973v0SwdWK1kbQ7tvxH0OuhH0KTXMVs1LLCscjzOkKDDy1RU2j7suHQ1tytraKTCHmFITjRs8Qb9DCHJ1tSq2gPjxdzTHpuN4rCxlrhG7tcmkhYOyFqsKOA-2F1cejxvpZAIEZRH-2BhZhF9hhxTC6PYuDrlevihun-2Bkz-2Bce5IwZetNGBIndYZxnPiTpEpYRk7gnZduf3oes7jBud-2FWXSITeD4FLuuIk-2BK3-2BMtwgrBVpQY-2BJj948-2BwfWfQBefv3H4zAptXzm2qJXklBeV9t9ZyMVFYsfIM33o6-2FhR53mhN0Wt-2FiSBjTBYXou6F5f4WBIwfwtjnGjiIEEOymshGsD67AlON4gdK43EjNdeGAINfCplIOYFL8nQ0a8FCnHc-2Fo3StAvHyVEv-2FYFPoPGMUGVNMGggkF1gxqwk-2BlwFypGSj0EbjKgxqOv6XbPAYKMk6Z40bLWq3UodBx8AyAuosY8IvYGiaGk-2BSzlpmiRt7S7kiNNCUGnQtTXAw-3D-3Dp2FO_LkNaGjuMCrzJijP9uh5w51wVkQcRLq1ZICyrjgtqsTs7a9leTc2p5wev7Q8wdkuK0iijDflalOpJbinv3X9IzZKnPQp8q19xnJ-2B8IQePoREjlpmnl8iGNDdz0qri9aSgD-2BYOKfuMfc797pnIAnSdEBiwTcp8OV5eKvBcgf13kBaKQ2hCZ0ou1TwdICsRdYrzAmFbbh6G-2FhGDLg4UGdx1DjnyuMbvjQUQs9Yunw-2B-2BclY-3D>

The ACT Health Directorate Chief Allied Health Office are working with IAHA and other partners to implement the ACT Academy. IAHA are seeking interest from suitable placement hosts across public and private sectors who may be able to provide placements for allied health assistance students. IAHA are the Group Training Organisation for the Academy and would provide cultural safety training for staff, organise placements and provide close support for students.

If you would be keen to assist in connecting for your sector please make contact with IAHA Project Officer Jacinta Williams at jacinta at iaha.com.au<mailto:jacinta at iaha.com.au> or Ph. 6285 1010.

Kind regards,

Maria
