Hi all
I've just donated to this campaign to help Awel Aweng to the SCRA Biennial in Ottawa later this month. Awel is a co-founder of New Change, the young African women’s leadership group that presented at the recent Trans-Tasman Conference in Community Psychology in Melbourne, and it would be just amazing to have her travel to Canada to carry the group's message of hope and optimism to the wider world. (A pretty good promo for the best of Vic Uni too, thanks to Ali Baker's involvement).
Whether you're going to Ottawa yourself or not (I am one of the lucky ones), contributing to Awel's crowd-funding effort could be your way of sharing in the northern summer sunshine 😊

Subject: Support for Awel to present at SCRA
Importance: High
Hi Heather,
I hope you are well. I just wanted to get in touch to see if you would be able to circulate our request for support for Awel to go to SCRA in a few weeks. Awel co-presented with me at the Trans-Tasman conference about the work that New Change has been doing.
Call for support
We have been working with Awel Aweng, co-founder of New Change, young African women’s leadership group for 3 years. Awel has been invited to present about the work of New Change at an international conference in Ottawa.
This is an amazing opportunity to inspire other young people and influence policy and programs.
We need to fundraise to get her there! Awel has created a Pozible campaign, check it out and if you have a few bucks that would be amazing.

Big thanks from Awel and New Change,
