Hi all,

A free webinar presenting on the GEAR project Primary Prevention of Violence Against Women. VicHealth funded, the GEAR project is a place based approach to developing gender equality across multiple settings (schools, families, workplaces etc.) in one Eastern Metro Melbourne suburb.

We’ve been waiting for the evaluation report and I am a bit excited to see this event come up.

Generating Equality and Respect was a world-first three-and-a-half-year primary prevention of violence against women program carried out in Melbourne’s east. From July 2012 to December 2015, Monash City Council, Link Health and Community and VicHealth worked in partnership to pilot a new model for primary prevention practice.

Bringing together a range of tried and tested primary prevention programs, Generating Equality and Respect sought to better understand the impacts of the respective programs, and to generate new knowledge around the efficacy and transferability of a ‘site-based’ model for primary prevention practice in Victoria.

Join us on the 17 May for a free webinar to hear a representative of each of the lead partners share key learnings and unique practice insights gained from piloting what was a world-first model. These learnings are particularly important given the future directions for prevention in our community indicated by the Victorian Royal Commission into Family Violence.

Participants will gain access to a range of Generating Equality and Respect products, including a range of tools and resources and the full and summary report.

Throughout the session you will also have the opportunity to send questions through to the speakers to be answered in 10-15 minute Q&A session at the conclusion of the presentation.
