Aboriginal Cultural Rights: a human rights framework

Join us for a discussion that moves beyond affirmation and into action. It’s been six years since Australia became a signatory to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and nine years since the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities made specific mention of Aboriginal Cultural Rights. How far has Australia come in recognising and protecting the cultural rights of its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and what standards and instruments do we need to implement fundamental rights for them?
