[Commpsych] APS Community College National Committee elections

Just a reminder to anyone who is considering standing for office-bearer positions on the college's National Committee in any capacity to get your signed nomination forms in by this Friday, with accompanying statements (which don't need to be very long). We will actually be due for another AGM, probably at the Trans-Tasman Conference in November, so it could be a very short term for those elected for one year only, if that's any encouragement!

I've attached the form and am happy to add my signature to anyone's form, and to rustle up more nominators and seconders if needed. I think scanned signatures are acceptable but you might want to check the fine print.

Only the Office Bearer positions need to be elected to the National Committee. The form is rather confusing but it looks like people nominate for either Chair, Deputy Chair or just 'Office-bearer' (5) and the committee will then decide who gets to be treasurer etc:

(a) Office Bearers (CURRENT)
(i) Chair- KEN ROBINSON - STEPPING DOWN
(ii) Deputy Chair GRACE PRETTY - STEPPING DOWN
(iii) Secretary* DAWN DARLASTON-JONES
(iv) Membership Secretary* PAM LOUGHNAN
(v) Treasurer* JULIE MORSILLO
(vi) Chair of the Course Approvals Committee*, VACANT  and
(vii) Chair of the Continuing Professional Development Committee* MEG SMITH

*These positions are allocated from elected Office Bearers at the first committee meeting following the election period

(b) (Other) Committee Members (don't need to be elected)
(i) State representatives from each State with an active Section (who will normally be the Chairs of the Sections)
(ii) The retiring Chair of the College, who will continue if requested and able as a National Committee member for one (1) year;
(iii) The Editor (if any) of a College's periodical(s);
(iv) A student representative; and
(v) Up to three (3) additional College members co-opted by the National Committee.

Call for Nominations
This call for nominations is for the positions of:
• Chair and Deputy Chair
Two (2) year term – from the 2014 APS College annual general meeting to be held on Sunday 15 June 2014 and expiring at the annual general meeting to be held in 2016.
• Five (5) Office Bearer positions

Two (2) of those persons elected will take a two (2) year term from the 2014 APS College annual general meeting to be held on Sunday 15 June 2014 and expiring at the annual general meeting to be held in 2016.
AND
Three (3) of those persons will take office for a term of one (1) year terms from the 2014 APS College annual general meeting to be held on Sunday 15 June 2014 and expiring at the annual general meeting to be held in 2015.

ADVICE TO NOMINEES: Please attach to this nomination form a typed statement using the headings and word lengths shown below This statement must be submitted as part of a nomination and will be required if a ballot is necessary.
• History of activities for the APS (including the College), education and professional background (max 450 words)
• Personal statement on reasons for nominating for this position (max 450 words)
• Personal statement on the knowledge, experience and qualities that I would bring to this position (max 300 words)
