Dear Colleagues,

You are warmly invited to the APS Women and Psychology Interest Group Symposium on November 30th, to be co-hosted by Vic Uni's College of Arts at the City Convention Centre. We have had a conference around this time of the year for the last 22 years. With the joint TransTasman Conference having taken place in Auckland in late September, our annual event in Australia will be this one day symposium.

Women make up a large proportion of registered psychologists and have an enormous amount to offer the profession. We are constantly meeting colleagues who are doing amazing life-changing work, in research, practice and management. Do set this day aside to come and hear about this work, to share your own, and to meet like-minded professionals from this and other professions.

Please take the time to read the attached flyer. We hope you can join us for an inspiring day, a wonderful lunch and some excellent professional development. Non-members and students most welcome, and please pass on this invitation to any interested colleagues and friends.

APS Women and Psychology Interest Group - Inaugural Una Gault Symposium

"Honouring and Celebrating Women in Psychology"

Showcasing the contribution of women to the profession through the work of recent recipients of the APS Elaine Dignan Award, and relating this work to current psychological practice.

Saturday 30th November 2013
Victoria University
City Convention Centre, Level 12, 300 Flinders Street, Melbourne. Room 1
9:30am to 4.00pm - Lunch and refreshments provided

This APS Women & Psychology Interest Group Symposium is hosted by the Victorian group in conjunction with Victoria University College of Arts.

Una Gault was a founding member of the Women and Psychology Interest Group who passed away on November 30 2012. One of her goals was to support women psychologists to conduct research and practice from a feminist philosophy. In her memory, we will honour the contribution of women psychologists to the profession and also honour the aims of the interest group by celebrating, sharing and creatively reflecting on the contribution of recent Elaine Dignan Award recipients to the profession and the Australian community.
