Community Development Coordinator
Ellenbrook
Remuneration Package up to $94,232 per annum

The City of Swan is home to a thriving and diverse community, where local initiatives are promoted and supported.

Based in the growth region of Ellenbrook Place (Ellenbrook, Aveley, The Vines, Henley Brook), this position will require you to play a leadership role within a multi-disciplinary team to build on the resources and capacity of local communities.

The position sits within the City's new 'Lifespan Services' unit - supporting planning, development and services to diverse communities in Swan.

The role will have direct responsibility for:


*         Community engagement and consultation approaches

*         Capacity building approaches to support, inform and sustain local groups, agencies and leaders

*         Undertaking research, strategic planning, partnership development, and attraction of new services to the region

*         Working with a range of stakeholders - including community, government and developers

*         Overseeing projects and events which promote community development and identity


We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, positive professionals who have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline; accompanied by practical knowledge of the social, cultural and economic issues affecting growing communities.

Other qualities sought include proven experience in communicating (both written and verbal), strong interpersonal skills, ability to work autonomously, and experience in leading project teams and managing budgets (including grant funding).

The salary for this position will be negotiated from $67,829 to $79,302 per annum, depending on experience, plus commuter use of a City vehicle (value $7,000)  and up to 15% superannuation (maximum value $7,930)  A choice of flexible work arrangements including a 9 day fortnight is also offered.
