About the role
We are seeking an experienced counsellor to join our counselling team, working across Sunshine and St. Albans campuses.  The position provides full time backfill for maternity leave until March 21, 2014 (with potential to extend for a further six months).  The position is 80 hours per fortnight with an accrued day off once per month.  Clinical supervision will be provided.  We are looking for a start date of Sep 16, 2013 (or sooner as negotiable).

Members of the Community Health Counselling team provide counselling, casework services and group work to clients with a diverse range of presentations. Priority areas include counselling for people with mild to moderate mental health issues, young people and their families, and those with chronic conditions.  There are opportunities to become involved in health promotion and community activities.  All team members work as part of a multidisciplinary team, using the utmost skill and sensitivity to individual client and community needs.  Service planning, development, implementation and evaluation are delivered in accordance with service philosophy, values, aims, policies and guidelines.

Key responsibilities for this position include

•Provide assessment, counselling and casework to presenting clients, ranging from children to adults who have diverse backgrounds
•Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date and accurate client records
•Contribute to a mutually supportive team environment with excellent communication and networking skills

About you
We are seeking someone who has excellent counselling and casework skills; who has experience in a range of settings; who can quickly adjust to the work role and new systems; who is enthusiastic, positive and enjoys working in a team environment.  Prior experience in Single Session Therapy, client databases and work with clients of different ages would be an advantage.

Key Selection Criteria
•You will be a registered Psychologist or qualified Social Worker (eligible for AASW membership).
•A minimum of two years postgraduate experience in a relevant setting.
•For Social Workers Class 3: postgraduate counselling qualifications or AASW clinical speciality accreditation.
•Current Victorian Driver’s Licence & Working with Children Check
