Subject: A Switch in Time - restoring respect in Australian politics - Fri 30 nov 6.15-8pm Melb City Conf Centre
Dear All,
If you haven't seen or heard about it already, check out ‘A Switch in Time’, published by the Victorian Women's Trust. http://www.vwt.org.au/initiatives-25.html
Launched in September 2012, remarkably just prior to the explosion of the misogyny debates, A Switch in Time is a call to action in a long standing quest for gender equality, 'our interest in strengthening our democracy and our commitment to care for the earth'.
If you're in Melbourne next Friday 30 September, there is a free event (flyer attached) picking up these three themes - I'm planning to go, so if anyone would like to catch up for a drink or a bite beforehand or afterwards, let me know.
Speakers include:
Lynne Haultain - Communications and Media Specialist - Moderator
Tony Windsor - Federal Independent MP - Member for New England
Mary Crooks AO - Executive Director - Victorian Women’s Trust
Professor David Karoly - Climate Scientist - University of Melbourne
When: 6:15pm - 8:00pm, 30th November 2012
Where: Melbourne City Conference Centre
333 Swanston Street, Melbourne.
(Near Corner of Little Lonsdale St)
Admission FREE, but your RSVP would help to manage numbers - women at vwt.org.au
