Community Engagement Coordinator - (Maternity Leave position 10 months)

Victoria Walks is an independent, non-profit walking health promotion body (charity) promoting the prevention or the control of diseases in human beings, in particular where they relate to physical inactivity by increasing the number of people who walk. Victoria Walks was established in 2009. The organisation is funded by VicHealth until June 2014.

Our mission is more Victorians walking every day.

Our vision is for vibrant, supportive and strong neighbourhoods and communities where people can and do choose to walk wherever possible.


Victoria Walks is seeking a suitably experienced and highly motivated person to undertake the role of Community Engagement Coordinator. The primary function of this role includes:

*         Overseeing the development of walking resources for schools and local government
*         Day-to-day management of Victoria Walks and Walking Maps websites and Facebook
*         Providing support and guidance to Walkability Action Groups

*         Building relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders

Victoria Walks is currently based at VicHealth's Carlton office where VicHealth provides a range of corporate services, including human resources and payroll.



Closing Date: Sunday 19th August  (11:00pm)
Tenure: Limited Tenure - 10 months
Classification: VicHealth C
Total Remuneration Package: Commences at $68,061 (inclusive of wage + superannuation)


Qualifications and experience required:


 *   Appropriate qualification preferably in community development, urban planning, health promotion or a related field

*         Additional training in related areas would be an advantage, e.g. website content management, social media or social marketing
