[Commpsych] FW: Free Cultural Competence Workshops being offered by AIPA June -July

Please see the attached schedule of Cultural Competence Workshops being offered by the Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA) in June and July 2011.


The workshop has been designed for non-Indigenous members of the professions that make up the mental health workforce:  psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses, social workers and some mental health trained occupational therapists (plus GPs).


Each workshop will be facilitated by two Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander psychologists.



The workshops are free and places are limited.



Please note:  One of the cultural competence workshops (Parramatta July 14 & 15) will have a particular focus on working with children and young people, and another will have a focus on substance abuse issues (Sydney July 4 & 5).
