Moondani Balluk Seminar Series, 2010

Dr Karen Adams
Workshop: Using photovoice in action research
Friday 8th of October 11-12, Room: Portable 1F, Moondani Balluk Indigenous Academic Unit, St Albans Campus
Photographs do more than document history - they make it, Johnathon Klein. Photovoice is a research method designed to create social change. It places cameras in the hands of those who usually have little control over images portraying them and provides an avenue for the photographer's story to be told. Photovoice also has synergies with action research. This workshop will draw upon Karen's photo-voice experiences to provide you with a hands on activity to gain insight into this method and how it intersects with action research cycles.

Anna Liebzeit
Workshop: Familiar techniques to engage people in health messages
Friday 15th of October 11-12, Room: Portable 1F, Moondani Balluk Indigenous Academic Unit, St Albans Campus
'Nostalgia is an anti-depressant' Todd Sampson, The Gruen Transfer, ABC TV. Anna Liebzeit is a multimedia artist, technician, and educator. She has been applying these skills to improve the quality and accessibility of health messages for diverse communities. An important component of this is creating familiarity. This workshop will explore what is familiar to you and other people and why that matters.
