VicHealth Research Practice Fellow - Community Health and Residential Planning

VicHealth is seeking tender applications for a Research Practice Fellow to investigate to what extent designing for health can shape health outcomes for those moving into the community. The Selandra Rise demonstration project is a residential development in Melbourne's south east. Master planning for the development has focussed on:

1.	Healthy and engaged community
2.	Provision of local employment
3.	Diversity of housing

This Fellowship represents a unique opportunity to track those latent, emergent, planned and accidental living health outcomes, from the first stages of community development to the time of community establishment. The position has been established in a funding partnership between VicHealth and evaluation partners of Stockland, City of Casey, Planning Institute of Australia and Growth Areas Authority.

Remuneration package: The Fellowship position is anticipated to be Academic Level B through Level D, depending upon experience.

Duration: The Fellowship is for a 5 year period.

Location: The position will be based at the administering organisation (e.g., University Department), but will require periods of time at some of the Evaluation Partnership premises, including being based at offices in the CBD and City of Casey.

Further information including background details and the application form are available from http://www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/en/Funding-Opportunities/Funding-Open/Research-Practice-Fellow.aspx <http://www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/en/Funding-Opportunities/Funding-Open/Research-Practice-Fellow.aspx> or by emailing rpetrie at vichealth.vic.gov.au <mailto:rpetrie at vichealth.vic.gov.au>

Enquiries: A/Professor John Fitzgerald, Executive Manager, Knowledge and Environments for Health, (03) 9667 1340.

Applications are due 6pm Monday 21 June 2010 and are to be submitted to rpetrie at vichealth.vic.gov.au <mailto:rpetrie at vichealth.vic.gov.au>
