Dear all,

Greetings, Please find attached ATT's media release in response to the
current development on African refugee bashing in Australia. The loss of
a young ambitious boy is to much stress to the family members and the
whole community but more "salt to the injury", the minister's statement
on his reaction to the media ploy is of extreme concern to African
Australians. ATT condemns the inflammatory tone and inaccuracy of much
media coverage on African issues, as instanced by journalist Jewel
Topsfield in Behind the scenes on Sudanese refugees? (The Age, 2/10/07).


Please circulate the attached media release to as many people as you
can, we need to educate "what need to understand Refugees Humanitarian
intake is different from a migrant intake". Refugees come from a war
torn, truamatised and disrupted life system, while migrants come from a
very stable life style. If we are genuine to consider humanitarian
intake, there is no more deserving  than the people we are blaming for
been refugees.
